Montreal West Coast Swing Fest, September 22nd to 26th – special offer !

From September 22 - 26, Montreal West Coast Swing Fest (www.MontrealDanceFest.com) is bringing THE BEST West Coast Swing dancers in the world to your own back yard.

If you feel like you need to get your West Coast Swing ready or you need to learn some West Coast Swing before registering for MWCSF? Good news:

Studio 88 Swing is starting a 3 week West Coast Swing Class taught by All-Star WCS Champion Max Pitruzzella on Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at 7:00pm. This class is specifically tailored to getting people comfortable with the basics of West Coast Swing so they will be able to participate in Montreal West Coast Swing Fest 2010.

Rock n'roll night with JiveStudio and Studio 88-SWING : Saturday September 11th

JiveStudio and Studio 88-SWING invite you to a "special 50's" JAZZ Hot.
A band, The Straight Pipe Trio, will play rock n'roll, rockabilly and Rythm & Blue from the 50's.

Not one but TWO introduction classes will take place at 9pm. Come and learn JIVE or SWING !!

This September, the Studio 88-SWING offers you a lot of different classes : Swing I, II, IV, special WCS class, WCS I et II, Lady's Styling, Boogie Woogie, Performance and Blues II.

On June 20th 2010, Dancers from Studio 88-SWING participated in this project. This Flash Mob event honors one of swing's biggest traditions by bringing together people from all over Montreal and from all over the world in one united dance: the Shim Sham!

Special thanks to all swing dancers from the Montreal swing scene (you came even though it was Father's Day and after an amazing but probably tiring day at the Montreal Balboa Review -- thank you!!) and all visitors from all over the world attending the Rotary International 2010 Convention who took part in this amazing event, as well as to the teachers from Studio 88 Swing (Annie Trudeau, Max Pitruzzella, Natasha Ouimet, Didier Jean-Francois), to the sponsoring Rotary Clubs of district 7040 (Rotary Club of Laval, Rotary Club of Cornwall, Rotary Club of 1000 Islands and Rotary Club of Old-Montreal), and to camera crew Chris Cochrane as well as Peter Krieger, Stephane Kirouoac and Stuart Cleland from Rotary International.
